Everyone has a story, a Purpose, a reason to live and take chances they never dreamed of. This is My Story.
Hi, my name is Fred Owen, and I’m 44 years young. I’ve been married for 20 years, and I have one son named Chase.
For 16 years I found my identity in the car business.
And I always told myself why I liked my job. I was working at a dealership for 12 hours a day, six days a week,
I was good at it. It supported my family. It was comfortable. I was able to pay my bills.
I was a hard worker. I got the occasional pat on the back, and I got used to it. It became the norm for me.
Then one day after getting chewed up and spit out by a customer,
I walked around for a few minutes digesting what had just happened,
and I asked myself, “What is comfortable?” “What is stable?” and “Do I really like my job?”
I stood behind my desk in the garage,
and I vividly remember looking out the door at the sunshine, the blue skies,
As I stood at my desk, I asked myself some of the toughest questions I could ask: Is this my purpose in life?
Is this what I was meant to do?
Am I going to be standing behind this desk when I am 60 years old?
Many thoughts were rolling through my head—fear, anxiety, anger. I had to make a change. Why was I doing something that I really despised?
It was fear, and fear had control over me and my purpose.
How many times in my life had I let fear take control of my actions, my direction, my life?
So on that day, I took the step, the leap of faith, to take my talents to the online world, conquer my fear, and make a life-changing moment.
My wife was on board, and I set sail—there was no turning back. I was utterly determined to change my family’s life and change my situation.
Little did I know how deep the Internet ocean was. The waves came crashing not only over me but over my wife and child as well. I felt regret. I felt lost. I began to feel regret for leaving what I had considered comfortable, and I was drowning in uncertainty. Information overload. I was lost. It seemed like no matter how hard I tried, how many hours I worked, nothing would work. The Internet was about to chew me up and spit me out just as that customer did, and I was prepared to go back to my former situation. I was ready to grab the phone and beg my former boss for my old job. I went through nine months of hell. All my savings were gone, and my bills were piling up. I had failed.
But then something happened to me, and a sense of clarity overwhelmed me. I was invited by my friend and mentor to go to Washington D.C., where I sat in on one of the most amazing and eye-opening Private Mastermind events—and I was the only marketer in the room that did not make at least a six-figure income. The one thing that really hit me was every one of the marketers in the room had a story like mine. I met some really great people, including Deagan Smith, Russell Brunson, and Myron Golden. My whole outlook changed, and I switched gears and haven’t looked back since.
I had a long talk with my wife, and when she told me she was scared and had tears rolling down her cheek, I looked at her and said we will be okay because I knew I could not fail. I would not fail.
My vision for winwithfred.com is to help ordinary people realize how extraordinary they really are and that they should never give up on their goals in life.
Whether it be starting a business online to just crafting a blog to tell your story I am here to help.
We are all born with a purpose and so few really harness their God-given potential and that is truly saddening.
One of my favorite bible verses…
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
– Matthew 5:13-16
My motto, #FaithFocusFinish, which means have consistent faith, focus on your goals and finish what you set out to achieve.
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
– Philippians 4:13
We are all born with a fire inside and for some reason as we get older the flame slowly diminishes until it’s gone, Keep yours shining for the world to see!
